The 2015 Cinema Touch Awards - ADAPTED SCREENPLAY

by
Julien Faddoul

5. Room – Emma Donoghue
For adapting her own work without selfdom but modesty.

4. Chi-Raq – Spike Lee, Kevin Willmott
For a superior subversion of themes and juxtaposition.

3. The Diary of a Teenage Girl – Marielle Heller
For a frank, witty dissection of a 16-year-old baby boomer's discovery of sex, with a mood of nostalgia-tinged melancholia.

2. Anomalisa – Charlie Kaufman
For a sad existentialist drama with his typical accentuation of human strangeness and surreal everyday experiences. Based on his radio play, he underlines common feelings of loneliness and isolation, and who, ultimately, is to blame for it.

1. Carol – Phyllis Nagy
For maybe the best adaptation of the last 10 years. Nagy's contributions to Carol are Herculean and indispensible.
