The 2013 Cinema Touch Awards - ACTRESS

by
Julien Faddoul

5. Enough Said – Julia Louis-Dreyfus
For inhabiting the unease a woman can have when trying to balance her mature and playful self. The film gains immeasurably from her work.

4. Short Term 12 – Brie Larson
For her exceptional generosity with her director, co-stars and, most importantly, her character. She has an awareness that doesn't come easily to any actor of any age.

3. Frances Ha – Greta Gerwig
For an incomparable ease in her own skin and aptitude to dive into the most awkward situations without feeling like she's just exercising. She's gawky yet graceful.

2. Blue is the Warmest Color – Adele Exarchopoulos
For a devastating depiction of a journey; in this case, the journey to adulthood. She conceals it all yet she is in a constant state of confession. She knows we can see through her. Also, man is she sexy!

1. The Unspeakable Act – Tallie Medel
For such a comprehensive collage of knee-jerk reactions that Jackie never feels corrupt. And if you can't see that, you need to look more closely. "For an unmentionable act it gets mentioned a lot."

Runner Up: GravitySandra Bullock
