For feeling so rivetingly incomplete in a way that I didn't think he was capable of. I look forward to what he does next.

2. Listen Up Philip – Jonathan Pryce

For a brilliant depiction of intellectual pretension and lack of fulfillment. It stands alongside the best performances of his long and varied career.

1. Starred Up – Ben Mendelsohn

For his tremendous gravitas on screen, and for somehow convincing us to empathize with Neville.
